Corporate Support Representative/Grants Specialist, KSPS Public TV

KSPS Public TV seeks a Corporate Support Representative, referred to as a Corporate Partnership and Grants Specialist to advance the mission of KSPS Public Television by securing funding from companies and organizations. You will be responsible for developing corporate gifts in support of KSPS programming, projects and events. You will also research and write for grants from foundations and governmental organizations. The ideal candidate has a history of successful fundraising with companies or organizations; has successful grant writing experience; enjoys working with a strong, creative team; is self-driven; and values the mission of KSPS.

This is a full time, salaried position with benefits offered. Schedule would be Monday-Friday 8a-5p and may vary on occasion.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Develops key contacts at businesses, organizations, and agencies.
  2. Researches potential funding sources and grant opportunities for KSPS projects.
  3. Writes proposals for grants, completing applications and providing information required by potential grantors.
  4. Working together with other members of the development team, helps to manage grant fulfillment, with focus on reporting to grantors.
  5. Communicates sponsorship and donation opportunities for KSPS that also meet the marketing or philanthropic goals of potential corporate donors. Sets up meetings with decision-makers and makes in-person presentations. Travels in the Inland Northwest region for meetings as required. May occasionally travel to Canada.
  6. Develops proposals and contracts that meet the needs of both potential corporate donors and KSPS. If on-air announcements are planned, communicates KSPS and PBS underwriting guidelines to potential donors.
  7. Monitors and manages corporate relationships to assure the promised elements of each agreement are executed correctly, including production, schedules, and events. Works with KSPS production, traffic and digital staff to implement plans. Assures on-air announcements comply with KSPS and PBS underwriting and FCC requirements.
  8. Maintains ongoing communication with supporters, providing proof of performance affidavits, invoices, links to videos and online posts, and frequent project updates.
  9. Stays up-to-date on KSPS mission, programs, projects, goals, and financial needs. Provides regular updates and reports to the Development Director as requested.
  10. Works closely with other members of the Development team. Participates in fund raising campaigns, special events and team meetings as requested. Provides day to day contact with KSPS members and viewers, other staff members, volunteers, and suppliers, always providing great customer service.
  11. Flexible on time required to meet work needs for KSPS.
  12. Assumes other duties and tasks as assigned for the general success of the development program at KSPS.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred; if no Bachelor’s, 5 years’ experience required
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in television or non-profit fundraising environment or related field preferred
  • Grant writing experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with regional business community a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database
  • Possession of, or ability to acquire, a US Passport within 120 days
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car with auto insurance
  • Must pass a background check
